Combustion engines tend to be more unreliable, noisy, more complex and harder to make than electric motors but EV's are held back today mostly by battery technology, or lack of. Batteries suck, everyone knows it. They are expensive, hard to make and metal fires are really fun. Not only that but they take a long time to charge, do not last many cycles (<1000) batteries suck too.
